Are GW2 folks coming back to finish up HOM?
Now that gw2 is full swing, how do you GW2ers rate the rewards for all that grind?
If the rewards are decent, are folks coming back to finish up their homs and are gw2 players buying gw for the 1st time to get rewards.
Just curious since that was what the majority of us were doing for a long time here and I have tons of title junk to unload.

as far as rewards are concerned, i think it was worth it. Although by the time the HoM Calculator came out i already had 27 or 28 points from just normal gameplay. And i wasn't even KoaBD, at that point. The rewards are purely aesthetic. Which is totally fine by me. i guess the only actual benefit is having two giant torches for when i'm in a dark area. (Dual FDS Skins) Some of the skins just kinda take u back to a good time in gw1.
Anything after 30 points is just bragging rights imo. i barely made it to 40 before launch. but i never really cared about getting those

I can't say I've noticed an uptick in the players. It's been pretty dead since GW2 officially released. There was a some mild uptics due to the Wayfarer's Reverie, but that leaked out quickly. There's still people buying title points, so I would expect you can still unload that.
Players seem to be based primarily around GMT. During North American times, players are considerably reduced.

Heritage armor is my favorite goddamn thing in the entire game.
If there's anything about them to disappoint me, it would be that the fire gloves don't light areas like the FDS or torches and that some of the HoM pets have inferior stats to their functional counterparts.

I like the way Anet did the HoM, everything is purely cosmetic. Just because you achieve 30/50 or 50/50 in the previous guild wars, doesn't mean you get better gear (talking about stat wise, not looks) then everybody else. Plus you can access anytime, and you can make you dull armor, look better and I love the FDS and Fellblade! I wish they made the Stygian Reaver a bit bigger! its too small!

With my human elementalist I'm stuck with the armor. Any other armors I've seen suck compared to it.
It fits his noble setting, looks great dyed black and gold, and makes him look as dapper as he deserves.
And the miniatures are cool too. With my engineer asura I go around with the servitor golem. As I made her the shortest possible size (shorter than the height of the knees of a short Norn) the golem looks almost as tall as her.
So they stride around making nouse with her backpack trinkets and armor tinkles, and the golem his stompy feet and clicks and chirps.
And do not forget that you get the achievement for transmutations with the HoM skin appliers. It's not as it's hard, as you get transmutation stones from completing maps, but with the HoM skins it takes like 1 minute to max.
And... oh, my, Black Mesa Source is being released.
I gotta go now.
Bye!
Edit: Nevermind... servers got overwhelmed. As much had to be expected... what were we talking about...?

There was only 1 instance of Kamadan last night during US prime time. I don't think people are coming back just yet.

Rewards are awesome for low level since all the low level armor is pure trash, but once you hit 60 the karma armor from the hearts are better looking that HoM stuff....Fellblade is awesome at any level...

Depending on what Nick wants, i'll log in and hope that I get enough booze to finish off my title. Just 500 points away from 15 max titles.

I continued to log in Guild Wars and I'll continue. I finally reached my 50/50 yesterday and I feel more complete about my 7 years experience in GW
But there are so many events, friends to help, nostalgia moments that I still log and play the game!

I think a large portion of GW2 players who previously have played GW1 are making the trek back due to their lack of interest for that format of play, which is in stark contrast of this game. I've seen a lot of people on my friends list returning to GW1.

I totally agree about the Heritage armor... especially for soldier classes. As we expected by looking at the HoM point calculator, some of the skins are just great, while others are more so-so. I can't really say whether doing the work to get these items in gw2 was "worth it" or not. For myself, I had a lot of fun doing GWAMM and 50/50 for gw1... having neat stuff in gw2 was not the point. I enjoyed the crap outta gw1 and those points/titles just gave me activities to focus on.

I had 38/50 and "I'm very important" when GW2 launched, a lot of other titles and accomplishments are close. I intend to finish them up for my own satisfaction, but doing it purely for the GW2 rewards is, as we told people when they'd come in over the last few months asking if it was worth it, probably not worth it.
The armor and weapon skins are okay. It's always nice to have variety. But so many people have them that they're hardly special. The free transmutation points for using them are useful, though (if you care about the track).
And yes, the "torch light" from the Fiery Dragon Swords is nice if you have a character that can equip it.
The most useful thing for me is the "pause button" that the Hall of Monuments orb provides. I don't have to find a safe spot if I need to go AFK.
It's also fun seeing the Hall of Monuments now. I got a good laugh out of the Xunlai Chest there, as well.

I'll be doing the same once I finish map exploration on my main GW2 toon. Plan is to make a GWAMM with zero deaths. Monk, ofcourse. Because monks are awesome.

Same as some others here. I was intending to work on HoM ever since they announced the rewards, but in the end I just put in whatever I had plus a couple of more things, got 22 points and figured that was good enough. I have the tabby cat and racoon mini, which are the two things I actually thought were the most interesting. The other stuff not really so much.

There are still things I want to do in GW1, I'm 45/50 so I can work on that if I like. Plus I feel a little sad that my girls are all dead in GW2.
My cute little Asura wears the HoM armor, its hard to find armor that looks nice on their tiny little bodies. Shes only little though (yes I know!) at level 21.

I've been considering it. Hard. But not as much to get titles. I'm already 50/50, the only one left is grinding sweets and fireworks for GWAMM, which did not appeal to me when I stopped playing and does not appeal to me now.
I too like the FDS, though the builds I run don't use swords (ranger does better melee with Greatsword and Guardian is sick tanking with a mace). OFC, that just means my Ranger gets a Fellblade, which is sick too.
GW2 has not overly impressed me the way GW1 just...wowed me. its checkers compared to the chess of gw1. it misses the strategy of play that a CORPG has. had. Its Anet (or NCSoft, i don't know who had the final say) taking what Colin and Erin made and turning it into a WoW clone. But I knew they would.
So its been bitter sweet. I'll not go too deep into the bitter because there is still plenty of sweet. I'll leave it there. this is not why i came back.

I love having the skins for my HoM to use. My warrior uses the Fellblade and FDS skins all the time, the Heritage Armor when wearing a hodgepodge of armor pieces.
But the point of the work for my HoM wasn't really to gain things in GW2 (that was just icing on the cake), it gave me goals for my playtime, making it much more enjoyable.

I plan to play a little to get a few more HoM items myself. Not sure if GW or GW2 will be my favorite over the other yet.
